Blended Cohorts: What We Learned in Seoul
Our blended format emerged from commuter realities in western Seoul. Two in-person lab Saturdays per month anchor hands-on practice; weekday evenings host mentor reviews over video.
Attendance improves when session agendas arrive 48 hours early with pre-reads under ten minutes. Hybrid rooms need explicit roles: in-room facilitator, remote moderator, shared timer. Breakout groups mix on-site and remote participants deliberately to avoid silos.
Assessment stays project-based. Written exams poorly predict desk readiness; scenario playback and portfolio artifacts do. Cohort size stays at 18 for blended tracks — large enough for peer review, small enough for mentor attention.
We continue iterating schedule density. Feedback from career switchers pushed us to offer a slower track with the same outcomes, extended over twelve weeks.
